SimpleGPS vs Motive
Motive is a compliance platform for regulated trucking. If you need ELD and hours of service, nothing here substitutes for it. If you just need to see where the vehicles are, we publish the price and they do not.
Checked on 3 September 2026: gomotive.com/pricing redirects to a lead form - "STEP 1 OF 3: What is your industry?" - with no figure anywhere on it.
Motive is built for trucking, construction, oil and gas, and field services, and the product is shaped by that: electronic logging, hours of service, driver safety scoring, AI dash cams. Those are legal requirements for a lot of their customers, not features.
SimpleGPS is not a compliance product. It tracks vehicles, records trips, draws geofences and sends alerts, for $9.99 per vehicle per month with a tracker at $52 on the annual plan - all of it on the site.

The differences in detail
Compliance is not a feature you can compare on price
ELD and hours-of-service logging are legal obligations for a lot of American fleets. We do not sell them. If your vehicles fall under those rules, Motive or a competitor of theirs is the purchase and nothing on this page changes that.
A pricing page that is a form
On 3 September 2026 gomotive.com/pricing sent us to "STEP 1 OF 3: What is your industry?". No number appears. Ours is $9.99 per vehicle per month with the tracker at $52 on the annual plan, printed on the site.
If you are not regulated
Plenty of vans, service vehicles, trailers and light trucks are not under FMCSA rules. For those, an ELD stack is a large amount of product you are paying for and not using, and a published $9.99 a vehicle is a different kind of answer.
What we add instead
A tracker you own, remote engine disable on a hardwired install with a relay, and the same account covering OBD, hardwired, magnetic and asset trackers.
If you run commercial motor vehicles under FMCSA rules, you need an ELD and we do not sell one. Motive does, along with hours-of-service logging and driver coaching, and choosing us instead would leave you non-compliant. That is not a close call and this page is not going to dress it up.
Bottom line
Motive answers a legal requirement. SimpleGPS answers "where is it". If you are regulated, that decides it before price ever comes up
