The FTM887 mounts on the vehicle battery rather than into the wiring, so there is no loom to open and no dashboard to take apart. 4G LTE Cat M1, dead reckoning so the position holds where satellites do not reach, and an IP69K housing that takes weather and pressure washing.

Pre-configured device. The SIM (with active LTE data), APN and our server are all set at the factory - nothing to configure.

Installing it

Get to the battery. On most vehicles it is under the bonnet; on some it is under a seat or in the boot. Park up and switch the ignition off before you start.
Mount it on the battery. It is a few minutes with basic hand tools and nothing is cut or spliced. If you are not comfortable working around a vehicle battery, any garage will fit it while you wait - it is a short job.
Let it start up. With the bonnet closed and the vehicle outdoors, give it a few minutes to find the satellites and join the network.
Add it and log in. Open your dashboard, press Add device and type the IMEI from the sticker. The vehicle appears on the map as soon as the device reports.

Troubleshooting

It does not show up on the map

Give it a few minutes after fitting, with the vehicle outdoors rather than in an underground garage. If it is still missing, check that it is seated firmly and that the battery terminals are tight. If that looks right, write to us and we will tell you whether it has reached our server.

Will it drain my battery?

No. It draws very little while the vehicle is parked. By default it stays online when parked so you can see the vehicle at any time; if the vehicle stands for weeks at a time, tell us and we will slow down how often it reports.

What can I fit it to?

Anything with an accessible vehicle battery - motorcycles, cars, vans and pickups. A motorcycle is where it earns its keep: there is no dashboard to hide a tracker behind and nowhere to run a loom, and the IP69K housing takes the weather a bike lives in. It is the one to choose when you want no wiring and nothing visible. If you would rather move it between cars in seconds, that is the OBD plug, the FMM00A.
