Teltonika FMM650
The FMM650 is the professional unit: 4G LTE Cat M1 and NB-IoT, separate GNSS and LTE antennas, and a high-capacity backup battery. It runs on 8 to 32 V, so it suits trucks and machinery as well as cars. Because the antennas are separate, the box itself can go where it would never see the sky.
Shipping
We ship within the USA (from Miami, FL) - typically 2-5 business days. Shipping is added at checkout.
What is in the box
- FMM650 device (with an LTE SIM already installed)
- Sticker with IMEI and QR code
- Warranty card (24 months)
Installing it
- Book an auto electrician. The FMM650 is wired into the vehicle, so it is not a job to do yourself. Any shop that fits alarms or dash cams will do it, and it takes about an hour.
- Decide where the antennas go. The antennas are what need a clear view upward, not the device - so the unit itself can stay hidden. Tell your installer where you want it out of sight; the antennas go high and under plastic rather than metal.
- Let it start up. On first power-up, outdoors, give it a few minutes to find the satellites and join the network. After that it is immediate.
- Add it and log in. Open your dashboard, press Add device and type the IMEI from the sticker. The vehicle appears on the map as soon as the device reports.
What you get
- Live location, trip history and route replay, in the browser and on your phone
- Alerts for speeding, geofences, towing, harsh driving, GPS jamming and low battery voltage
- A backup battery that keeps it reporting if the vehicle power is cut, and CAN bus data with the right adapter and CAN profile
Troubleshooting
It does not show up on the map
Give it a few minutes after the first power-up, outdoors rather than in an underground garage. If it is still missing, the usual cause is an antenna that is not connected or is trapped under metal - ask your installer to check both. If that looks right, write to us and we will tell you whether the device has reached our server at all.
Will it drain my battery?
No. It draws very little while the vehicle is parked. By default it stays online when parked so you can see the vehicle at any time; if the vehicle stands for weeks at a time, tell us and we will slow down how often it reports.
What can I fit it to?
Anything with an 8 to 32 V electrical system - cars, vans, trucks, tractors, excavators and other machinery. A boat is on that list too, and it is the one we point boat owners at: a 12 or 24 V system is well inside its range, the antennas mount separately so the unit can live below deck, and the backup battery keeps it reporting when the isolator is off. It is not a sealed marine unit, so it wants a dry locker rather than an open cockpit. It is not a plug-in device either, so budget for the installer.
